Black Friday
This concept has become notorious in recent years. Probably everyone already knows that when Black Friday appears in an advertisement, it means discounts. And that's really practically everywhere across disciplines. Is the label Black Friday Married and what does it actually mean?
What is Black Friday
American traders are behind Black Friday. Over the years, it has become customary for this informal shopping holiday to start around Thanksgiving, the fourth Friday in November. But it has become a tradition that Black Friday lasts longer. Most often, sellers launch offers several days in advance. Black Friday is thus a symbolic start to the pre-Christmas shopping frenzy.
The name may refer to a historic event in 1929, when the New York Stock Exchange collapsed. The beginning of pre-Christmas shopping just during the Thanksgiving period was a promise for traders in bad economic times that they would finally get from red numbers to black ones. But there are more theories about Black Friday.
People in the Czech Republic also got used to Black Friday very quickly, which is also reflected in the enormous number of online orders. Compared to another average day, e-shops sell up to 100 percent more on Black Friday. For example, in 2020, the Czech Post took over more than a million shipments during Black Friday. However, it should be borne in mind that the discounts provided by sellers are often not realistic. In fact, they most often range between 10 and 20 percent.
