Add-ons - Add-on information

An important part of the add-on is its presentation to Upgates clients (your potential customers). It is good to take care of this presentation, because if the client finds exactly what he is looking for in it, he will most likely never return to your add-on.

Below we will guide you through the Add-on Information section and describe how best to manage this section.

For better orientation of clients, we try (require) that add-ons maintain a uniform presentation structure.

Now we will gradually analyze the individual sections of your add-on presentation.

Main

The main section serves for the most basic general identification of your add-on. And in the add-on details it is displayed on the right side next to the text.

  • Add-on logo - Your add-on logo - the logo of your company (product) that you are creating. (preferably SVG format)
  • Add-on favicon - The add-on favicon is required for the reason that future use in administration and other promotional materials
  • Add-on name - The name that represents your add-on. Try to state it concisely.
    • Try not to include names that are too long (max. 50 characters)
    • Do not include your company name if the add-on is not really called that
    • Do not include marketing texts or prices in the name
  • E-mail - Contact email for customer support of your add-on (if not specified, it will be taken from the agency)
  • Phone - Contact phone number for customer support of your add-on (if not specified, it will be taken from the agency)

Text

Text is a very important part of your add-on, which serves to present your add-on to potential Upgates clients. Focus on presenting your benefits, how the add-on works, what the add-on solves for the client. Don't forget to add images or videos that will liven up the whole presentation.

How does the add-on work?

A simple, short and concise description of your add-on. State the points here as if you were giving a customer a present your add-on in 1 minute.

  • Insert the text as a list of points
  • Indicate a maximum of 3-6 points
  • Do not use unnecessarily long sentences
  • Indicate the basic features of the add-on in the points. For example:
    • Two-way synchronization of contacts in real time
    • Transfer of data from orders, categories and discount coupons
    • Inserting a measurement script for customer behavior
    • Transfer of data for abandoned cart automation
    • Tag contacts according to data from the e-shop
  • Do not insert marketing information about the add-on, including the price

What will the add-on bring you?

The text should contain brief information about which end-service the add-on is connected to with a link to their homepage. In the case of multiple connected end-services, describe what kind of services your add-on integrates and provide a link to your page (i.e. the page of the add-on provider) with their current list and description.

How is the add-on activated and operated?

In this section, describe how the add-on is activated, whether it needs any additional settings in the iframe, whether registration on your website is required, or whether the add-on can handle this completely automatically.

Why choose this add-on and what are its competitive advantages?

Describe what makes your add-on exceptional, what is the biggest selling point

Is the add-on suitable for you?

Describe your ideal customer. However, you can also list special cases that you have managed to solve.

Additional information

Give the customer additional useful information about the add-on or your company's offer. This text can contain, for example, additional contact information for a sales representative, brief information about your company, brief information about the offer of your other add-ons, samples/case studies, quotes from customer reviews, etc. If you want to tell your customers something more, here is your space.
Add image/video

URL links

URL links are a very important part of your add-on. With them, the customer can click through to your site correctly, find out the price of the add-on, etc.

Price

A condition for a verified add-on is that its activation is completely free from Upgates. This means that the client has the option to click Activate add-on in the administration without any restrictions on the amount uploaded to the wallet, etc. The customer therefore pays the price on your side (monthly/annual flat rate, additional services, etc.). There is no price invoicing on the Upgates side.

Category

The category is used to place the add-on in the correct section. By default, each add-on has the main category General selected when it is created.

However, change this category according to the focus of the add-on you have selected. In this section, your add-on will then be searchable both in the Marketplace and in client administrations. Then remove the General category.

The category is a mandatory attribute of the add-on approval process.

Services

The services section is used to match your add-on and the service you provide. Customers will be able to filter your add-on in the Marketplace using this service.
The add-on must have at least one service selected, which is itself. For example:
If you are creating an add-on that helps customers with shipping, this means that you can connect the customer's order with different carriers and return the package tracking number.

Your add-on will be called, for example: Shipping via carriers
You can connect: DPD, DHL, Zásilkovna, etc.

In the list of services, you click: DPD, DHL, Zásilkovna, etc.
However, since this is a new add-on, you will not find your service among them. For this reason, you must request the creation of a new service.

Main service

Always choose the service that you actually offer as the main service. This will usually be your add-on name.

Request for a new service

You can request a new service if you cannot find the service you offer or the add-on you created in the list of services.

  1. You can make the request in the add-on details / Add-on information - Services.
  2. Here, click the + Add button.
  3. In the pop-up window, click the Request for a new service button.
  4. Fill out the required form and submit the request.

We will then assess your request and, if it is a correct request, we will create the service and assign it to your add-on.

Functions

The add-on functions indicate the options that the add-on has. For example, Code reader, Label printing, etc.

If any of the services are missing. You can, similarly to services, request the creation of a new function.
